Welcome to View from the Top, a NCAA women’s basketball newsletter focused on the title contenders and championship picture. View from the Top covers the top teams in the country with an eye towards March all season long.
Throughout the season, I’ll be posting weekly newsletters highlighting the most important aspects of the race for the 2022 NCAA championship. This will include in-depth looks at the contending teams, breakdowns of the biggest regular season games, highlighting players that will be crucial to who wins it all, bracketology on the top few seed lines, hot takes (of course) and more. Subscribe to follow along all season here.
Of course things can change, but right now it almost feels like a given that we’ll see South Carolina, UConn and Stanford in Minneapolis and one of the three will be hoisting the trophy on April 3rd. All three rosters boast an impressive level of depth - something I’m not sure we’ve seen at the top of women’s basketball before. Depth led Stanford to the crown last season. South Carolina and UConn both return their entire Final Four rosters, bolstered by big additions from the transfer market and 2021 recruiting class. That will translate to a lot of focused coverage on these three teams - and their path to the national championship. I’ll also be exploring the other teams in the country that could challenge for the Final Four spot, those that are poised to upset one of the top three along the way and more.
The first official View from the Top newsletter will come Next Monday, November 8th, just ahead of the start of the season. Stay tuned!
